Larry J. Selck, 58, of Sumner, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner, Iowa with Rev. William Runaas, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Sumner. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July10, 2013, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the church on Thursday.
Larry James Selck, son of Edward and Luella Brase Selck, was born May 22, 1955, at Sumner, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli, and received his education in the Tripoli Schools, graduating from Tripoli High School in 1974. On June 18, 1978, he was united in marriage with Diana Gaede at Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli. A resident of Sumner for many years, Larry has been employed by Terex in Waverly. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner and the U.A.W. Among his hobbies are working on motors, fishing, and motorcycle riding.
In addition to his wife, Diana of Sumner, he is survived by one son, Adam Selck of Sumner and his friend, Christy Butler of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Misty (Jim) Heyer of Sumner; his mother, Luella, who resides at the Hillcrest Home in Sumner; and two brothers, Lee (Kathy) Selck of Fredericksburg and Lloyd (Jo) Selck of Sumner.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Edward.
